I guess I ought to stop apologising for being late with these posts, and just accept the fact that I just don’t get around to things quickly enough these days. I’m pretty much retired now (although just starting some new complex systems research) so you’d think I’d have time. Seems to escape me though. And, no, I’m not spending all my time watching daytime TV.

Catching up

Yes I know, late again. My excuse is that I’ve really done nothing to the car that’s worthwhile talking about. I’ve just done a bunch of racing. Crofted

croftWe set off for the far horizons of Croft circuit a few weeks ago. This was the first visit of the 750 club to the circuit and, after the welcome that we had, I’m sure we’ll be back. Some of the circuit staff regulars were commenting that they were unused to having to grid up a full grid of cars. Apparently a meeting the week before had had two races with only four cars on the grid. That’s just bonkers, we wouldn’t have run the race as the club would lose a lot of money. Croftbound

Melted wetI seem to have driven up the A1 several times recently, including the visit to daytuner I mentioned a while ago. However, we’re soon going to be going up there to the Croft race circuit which is just south of Darlington. I’ve been to Croft once before. For some inexplicable reason I did a track day there in 2004. God knows why because my write up of it (which you can still find here) says that we set off at 0400 which is bonkers.
