Going green

Rubbed down again-004Yet another quick update! As promised at the end of the last update we promptly wrecked the nice finish and rubbed it all down again. It really was “we”; at one point there were three of us all working away with nary a word between us on account of us all wearing breathing masks. This particular reprobate is Adrian who seems inordinately pleased at the carnage that he’s wreaked.

It does look worse but it is in fact much smoother and after we’d finished doing all that it was time to add what we hoped was the final coat of pattern coat primer. We added some yellow pigment to this one, so that you’d be able to tell when you were getting through the layers. Rather oddly it promptly went green which I don’t really understand.

Gone green-008All the same, it then looked like this. OK, you can’t see the whole car but that’s a problem with the camera… A different perspective though…

Now, of course, I’m going to rub it down again. Hopefully, though, after this it’ll be time to apply the gloss coat and start polishing.

  1. Notice that every single horizontal surface is covered in dust. I suspect you’ll be able to tell the story of this buck by reading the layers. Autosedimentarysequencing. I think we’ll call it.
